Now of course, everyone knows authors and writers - and really anyone wanting to do anything has to be alive. You have to be living to be doing anything, I mean, duh. . . right?
But see, there's a big difference between living, and merely existing. You have to exist to do anything, but not everyone existing is living. Not everyone walking here on this earth is living life, they're merely walking through the actions.
It's easy to fall into this slump - fluidly carrying out the motions without any emotion. It's easy to do this and do that and have this plan and make all these things happen, and forget why we're doing them in the first place.
I often find myself forgetting to enjoy the moment, and instead focus on lists and plans and doing, doing, doing. I look forward to the destination with so much hope, I forget that it's the journey that really matters.
And for writers, it's of utmost importance that we don't let this happen. We can not let our writing about reality steal us from this reality.
That's why I wrote an article all about how existing is not living and life matters far more than anything else.
In other words
Lillianna, I read that post a while ago and loved it! Thank you so much for the wonderful reminder!
