So first of all, happy day after Thanksgiving, or, in other words, happy Black Friday!
I hope you all had such a wonderful Thanksgiving remembering how good God is and reminding yourself to be thankful in all circumstances... even when the turkey is burnt or the mashed potatoes watery or the stuffing just... stuffing. (Definitely NOT my favorite Thanksgiving food XD)
In honor of Thanksgiving, I was going to do a post on thankfulness, of course. But then I was like everyone does that, and I already wrote a post about contentment.
So I was going to do a post about perspective, but I already wrote two posts on perspective - one a book review, and one a book review and a... person review?!
And then I was going to do a new book review, but I'm going to do that next week (probably) or a writing snippet, but I did that a few weeks ago.
So, I'm going to talk about motivation. And why motivation matters to Black Friday and Thanksgiving... and everything. Why Black Friday is the perfect time to talk about motivation.
And, more specifically, Tony Stark's motivation. And why that matters.
But First
I need to say a thank you of my own.
My business, Firefly Designs is now up and running (and running a Black Friday special if you're interested!) and you can check out the website or find me on Instagram at firefly_designs_bylj if you want.
And I want to say thank you all - THANK YOU SO MUCH!!
Thank you for your encouragement and support and kind words. You all mean so so much to me and this Thanksgiving and Black Friday, I couldn't be more thankful for my people.
So thank you, with all my heart.
Black Friday And Motivation
Black Friday is a HUGE holiday to some, and a mere glancing thought to others. But wherever you fall, it's because of your motivation.
Your motivation, or your "why" is the reason you rush out to stores in the wee hours of Friday morning. Or the reason you don't even blink at the thought of all those limited-time deals and specials.
Your why dictates everything about your life.
But why... does your why matter? What even is a why? And why would I even be talking about it?
As well as get a FREE GUIDE (for all you writers out there) to making your characters have stronger motivations.
Believe me, it's full of Marvel lingo and Tony Stark vs Captain America, and also explains a lot more about motivation and writing and the WHY behind all of that.
So go check it out and let me know what you think - it was probably one of my favorite articles to write (the next one on Wanda Maximov and character arcs is a close second though so stay tuned for that one's release!)
